Matt and I have this amazing media room in our home. It has a huge screen and projector, it's made to look like a mini theater...with theater-type lights and everything. It truly feels like we are at the movies when we are up there. When we were looking for a new home to buy after we found out we were pregnant with twins- we had a hard time finding a house that met our needs. The main one being that we needed a house with at least 2 bedrooms downstairs, so we didn't have to put the nursery or our master upstairs, and an office for Matt. There are other things we wanted and didn't get...but this is one of the only houses we found that would work....in the area we wanted to live. And? It just happened to have this amazing media room. More of a perk for Matt, but I actually really like it too. We barely used it at all the first 8 months we lived here. When we moved in, I was ginormous, and had no desire to climb the stairs very often to watch a movie. Then the babies came....
Now, we feel comfortable going upstairs (with the monitor, of course), to watch a movie after the babies go to bed at night. We have deemed Wednesday and Sunday nights as our movie nights...so we go up and have what feels like a little date night 2 times a week. It's awesome. We had a lot of movies to catch up on, and we've seen some really good ones so far. We saw "Inception", which I loved, and still randomly ponder over sometimes. We have also seen "Eat, Pray, Love", "The Social Network" and "The kids are all right", and I really liked those three a lot as well.
Last night? We watched "Toy Story 3". Matt and I both enjoy a good cartoon....animated movie? every once in a while, and I was very excited to see this after all the great reviews. I *loved* this movie, ya'll! I cannot remember the last time a movie made me cry as much as this one did. I loved the storyline. I love Woody and Buzz. I love the little girl Andy gave his toys to. I just really, REALLY loved it. At the end of the movie, I was just bawling!! I know it would have made me cry whether I had Ryleigh and Reagan or not...but now that I am a mommy, some things just really hit me harder than they would have before. Songs, movies, commercials...
I know it's ridiculous, but I just kept thinking through the entire movie how I don't want them to grow up and go off to college. They are 7 1/2 months old, and I'm already worried about college. I'm crazy. :)

Chompers
I *love* Reagan & Ryleigh's teeth. They both have 2 bottom teeth, and they are so dang adorable. It's pretty much impossible to get a picture of Ryleigh's teeth right now, because every time I try- she puts her tongue in the way. But Reagan's teeth? They show all. the. time. now! It's sooo cute. Here are a few pictures I snapped today of Reagan... :)

Shopping Sunday
Ryleigh, Reagan and I went shopping with uncle Jason (my brother) yesterday. We had so much fun, and Ryleigh and Reagan were angels, of course. Reagan is about to move up to size 12M, and we didn't really have anything at all in that size. Plus, I needed to buy an outfit to get their pictures taken in.
I got some really cute spring/summer clothes for them, and Jason bought them an extremely cute outfit that I fell in love with but hesitantly put back on the rack because it was too expensive. When you are shopping for 2, it's not as easy to buy a $30.00 outfit because well, that's $60! So, thank you soooo much, uncle Jason! :)
When I go to stores now, I never look for clothes for myself- I go straight to the baby section. I have so much fun picking out clothes for them! :)

The Magic of the Jumperoo
I don't know how I would possibly make it through the day right now, with 2 seven month old babies, if it weren't for the miracle of the Jumperoo. This has been Ryleigh's favorite toy, by far, since we first put her in it at 4 months old, when we noticed she wanted to jump on her legs whenever we held her up in our lap. The girls loves. to. jump. I swear, she would stay in the thing all day long if we let her. It took Reagan a little while longer to fall in love with the jumperoo, but it's now her favorite toy as well. It's one of the only things that will calm them when they are fussy. I call it magic. They jump and jump and jump....and then finally I will notice it got very quiet, and I look up and they are both passed out.
It's funny watching them, because jumping is just one more thing they do so differently. Ryleigh goes for height. She gets excited and she jumps as high and as fast as she can. Sometimes she gets going so good that I think she is going to pop the springs. I call Reagan twinkle toes when she is jumping, because she very delicately bounces, using only her tippy-toes. It's so cute watching them. I see it every single day, and it still amuses me.
We started out with only 1 jumper, and for a while that was fine, especially when Ryleigh was more into it than Reagan. But we finally broke down and bought another one used, because they both wanted to jump...and whichever one didn't get the jumper was mad!
Ryleigh does this adorable thing in the jumper, where she will fall asleep...and then wake back up and start jumping again like she was never asleep. Even funnier, sometimes she sleep-jumps. She will get spooked when she falls asleep and start jumping with her eyes still closed. It's so funny!
Here is a video I took of Ryleigh sleep-jumping. The loud banging is me snapping...and then hitting the floor to wake her up. Mean? Maybe. It's so funny though!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Ryleigh and Reagan in their jumperoos.

A poop story.
I change most of the dirty diapers around here, and when you have 2 babies, that's a lot of diapers. It doesn't really bother me at all though, because my husband does a lot of other stuff to help out with Ryleigh and Reagan. Changing diapers is just not one of them, for the most part. He doesn't refuse to at all though. If he is home alone with the babies, and one of them has a dirty diaper, he doesn't just leave them in it- he changes it. I sometimes jokingly tell Ryleigh and Reagan when I leave the house to get their pooping done while I'm gone. :) There have been many times when I come home from grocery shopping, or some other errand...and Ryleigh or Reagan is nakey, with just a diaper on. This always means there was a dirty/leaky diaper involved.
Last night I quickly ran to Walgreens to grab something...and when I came in the door...I heard my husband, in kind of a nervous voice say, "JenJen-help...please." I walk into the nursery, and I see Matt holding Ryleigh in a standing position on the changing table. She is completely naked, and she looks at me and starts giggling. Ryleigh had pooped while she was in her jumper, and apparently her diaper didn't like it, because there was poop everywhere- all over Ryleigh, all over the clothes she was wearing...and my adorable husband was trying his best to handle the situation by himself. He managed to get her clothes off without getting poo all over the changing table, which I definitely considered success. Matt was grossed out, and Ryleigh was just giggling away. It was seriously the cutest thing ever.
Matt said he was so relieved when he heard my car pull up in the garage. :) It was bath time anyway, so I just went ahead and ran her bath water and took over. It was really funny and adorable though, and I really regret not running and getting the camera to take a picture!

DaDaDa
Matt got me the most adorable card from Ryleigh & Reagan for Valentine's day. The card itself is so cute, but the way he signed it made me laugh.
I think I mentioned in a past post that Reagan is really babbling a lot now. A LOT. The main noise she makes is "dadadadadadadadada", of course!! I'm working on "mamamamamamama", but so far, she just smiles real big and then says "dada" over and over. So...this is how my lovely husband signed the card from the babies. He said they talked it over, and this is what they came up with. :)

Valentine's Day
Today is Valentine's Day. It just felt like any other day though, because Matt had to work all day, until 10pm. I decided to take some pictures of Ryleigh and Reagan so I could send him a cute little valentine in his email at work. I got some really cute ones! Let me just say though, taking pictures of 2 seven month old babies is not easy! It's dang near impossible to get a shot of them where they are both looking at the camera and at least one of them is not pulling the others ear, screaming, falling over, or something of that nature. Hopefully it will get a little easier once they are both sitting up on their own- but right now? Picture time= very hard work. I was exhausted and sweating by the time our little session was over!
Anyway, here are a few of the pictures I took of them today...
I'm very happy with the way they turned out. Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!

6 month well visit
Today, we finally had Ryleigh and Reagan’s 6 month well visit. It’s more like a 7 month well visit though, as our appointment kept getting rescheduled because of this crazy weather we’ve been having. They have grown so much! Our little Ryleigh is 16lbs 11 oz and 26.5 inches long, and Reagan is 19lbs 10.5oz and 26.25 inches long. So? Reagan is 3lbs heavier, but Ryleigh is a bit taller. The doctor said they both look great, and they are right on track, developmentally. Yay babies!
Getting their shots was a nightmare, as usual. Reagan got hers first, and she cried, but it wasn’t so bad, and Matt was able to calm her pretty quickly. Ryleigh, our little drama queen, threw an EPIC fit. She started screaming before anything even happened. And when she got her shots, she screamed louder than I’ve ever heard her scream before. And? She didn’t stop. For a very long time. Hearing her scream at the top of her lungs made Reagan start back up (because they are doing that now-crying when the other does). It was so much fun. :) The good thing is, *I* didn’t cry this time. Actually, Ryleigh’s fit was so bad, it made me start giggling. It was just that bad.
We finally got them settled down and in their car seats, and of course, they were passed out about 30 seconds after we got in the car. They took a nice long nap, and now everything is right in the world again.

The first 6 months
The first few months with R&R are kind of a blur. The main things I remember are that it seemed like I was always feeding a baby, and I was so tired most of the time that I felt like a zombie. More than that though, I remember the feeling of pure happiness and contentment. I have wanted to be a mother for as long as I can remember, and all of the sudden, I had two perfect little baby girls that depended on me (and Matt) for everything. I instantly felt like the luckiest person on the planet, even when I was up at 2 am feeding 2 babies, or rushing through bath time because they both screamed at the top of their lungs the entire time.
Ryleigh and Reagan are really such great babies, and they have been from the start. We had them sleeping through the night consistently by around 2 months, and from that point, I would say that things started to get a bit easier every day. Although, I’ve been told I might change my mind about that though once they start walking, as that is when it starts getting hard again!
Every day is an amazing adventure! They are eating baby foods now. They just ate peas for the first time yesterday, and they both had the most disgusted looks on their faces and were spitting out every bite. I couldn’t really blame them, because I hate peas! Today when we tried them again for lunch, they ate them right up! Both Ryleigh and Reagan are babbling like crazy, especially Reagan! Some switch was hit on Sunday with her, and she started babbling all. day. long. And now she is throwing different sounds together. It’s so funny. Reagan got her first teeth about a month ago. She got her first 2 bottom teeth at the same time! No wonder we were having so much teething trouble with her for a while! Ryleigh just got her first bottom tooth 3 days ago. They are both rolling all over the place when we lay them on the floor to play, and we work on sitting up every day…but so far, Reagan does it for about 20 seconds and falls over, and Ryleigh gets excited and throws herself backward most of the time. I love watching them become interested in toys and learning new things about the world around them. It’s so much fun, and I feel so blessed that I get to be home with them every day and not have to miss any of it. The greatest thing though, is that they are SO different. They look so different and they act so different! Ryleigh is thin and is getting a good bit of blonde hair, while Reagan is chunky and still just has fuzz on her head. Ryleigh has dark navy blue eyes, Reagan has light blue eyes. Ryleigh is a bit spastic and can’t be still….ever. Reagan is more chill and is happy to just sit or lay still and play. So far, Ryleigh is a momma’s girl, and Reagan is a daddy’s girl. It’s so fun because I get to interact with them both differently. There is never a dull moment in the Diggs' house.
Below are some of my favorite pictures that we have of our precious babies so far. These are from 1 month-6 months.

The day R&R entered the world.
I thought I would start by writing a little about what has gone on in the past 6.5 months of Ryleigh and Reagan’s lives and share of few of my favorite pictures that we have of them so far.
First, the day they were born.
My water broke, and I went into labor around 7:30am on July 16th, 2010. It was kind of a traumatic experience involving a lot of blood and an ambulance, but everything ended up being ok, and I gave birth to my beautiful baby girls at 12:07 and 12:08 pm via s-section. I was 35 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Ryleigh and Reagan were born weighing a whopping 5 lbs. 8 oz. each, and they were both 17.75 inches long. Ryleigh had some breathing troubles the day she was born, but other than that, they were very healthy babies. They were in NICU at Plano Medical Center for 8 days until they were able to eat well and started gaining weight. They came home from the hospital on July 24th, which is also my birthday. This was, by far, the best birthday present I’ve ever received, but it sure didn’t feel like my birthday when I jumped head first into taking care of newborn twins! :)
When Ryleigh and Reagan were first born, everyone said they looked very similar. The only main difference people saw was that Reagan had a darker color hair than Ryleigh. Everyone had a hard time telling them apart except me. Matt learned pretty quickly, but he still got them mixed up every once in a while. Now? They look nothing alike!

I love my life.
Maybe this blog was a bad idea. Every time I sit down to write, Ryleigh and/or Reagan wake up from a nap, start screaming, poop, or do something so incredible adorable that I must get up and go give them attention right that second. I love my life.

The beginning....6.5 months in.
I’m kicking myself for not starting a blog the day the Ryleigh and Reagan were born, or even while I was pregnant. Life changed drastically when my 2 baby girls were born, and I wish I would have documented every second of it, because I’m so afraid I’m going to forget something. Especially now that I have mommy brain! I have a hard time remembering what day of the week it is. I am going to cut myself a little slack though, because I probably wouldn’t have had time to update it the first several months anyway. Taking care of 2 newborn babies is a little bit of work!!
My precious babies are 6 ½ months old now, and I do believe it’s time to start a blog so I can share them with everyone that isn’t lucky enough to see them and give them snuggles on a daily basis, like me.
Sometimes my entries might be a bit boring, but this will give me a place to gush, brag, vent, and share my beautiful life with Ryleigh ad Reagan with everyone that doesn't get to see them on a daily basis.
