Christmas

It's so amazing what a difference makes in babies. (duh, right?!) Last Christmas, Ryleigh and Reagan were SO tiny. They were cranky and didn't understand why so many people were around, they didn't care at all about Christmas presents, and only wanted to eat the wrapping paper. They are so big now! We had a really amazing Christmas with them. We enjoyed family, and family enjoyed R&R! They got so many amazing gifts. Our family is seriously amazing. They actually kind of enjoyed ripping their gifts open this year! I know Christmas is just going to get more and more fun the next couple of years. I seriously can't wait!!

I am REALLY mad at myself for not getting any pictures while we were celebrating Christmas with my dad's family though. They had on the most adorable little dresses, and I didn't get 1 picture! What the heck was I thinking?!

Santa, baby.

Today, we went and got Ryleigh and Reagan's pictures taken with Santa. Let me start by saying that we waited way too late to get this done. Pictures with Santa 3 days before Christmas = HELL. Thankfully the place where we like to get their Santa pictures done has an online check in. So, I checked us in at 9am. We got a text that it was almost our turn, around 3 pm!!!!! Could you imagine standing in a freakin' line that long...with 2 toddlers?? So, we are rushing out of the house to get there, and I realized when we were getting them out of their car seats, that I forgot their shoes. So me, being the drama queen that I am, got ALL worked up over not having their shoes. I can laugh at it now, but I was so upset at the time. Once we get in the store to check in, we get to stand in line for another 30 minutes. And we were the last ones in line, because Santa wanted to go get some lunch. The plan was to get a picture with just Reagan first, because we thought she wouldn't cry...and then give him Ryleigh too, because we figured she would definitely throw a fit. Well? They both threw an EPIC FIT. I felt a little bad for putting them through that, but it made for some funny pictures! :) Since Santa was leaving for lunch after our picture session, Matt hopped in Santa's chair and I snapped a few cute pictures with my phone. R&R were happy to sit in Daddy's lap. Kind of a big ordeal, but fun memories to have! :)

Winter Vacation

We had a really great winter break vacation!! We drove to Orlando. The week we were there was supposedly one of the slowest weeks at Disney, because kids aren't out of school yet. We really had an amazing time. But let me tell you, it was freakin' busy at Disney World. Srsly. It was supposed to be a 1-2 out of 10, crowd-wise. I cannot even imagine what 10 would be like. We had a wonderful time, though! I love Disney so much. It truly is a magical place. My favorite part was when they lit up the castle with Christmas lights. It was so incredibly beautiful. Besides Disney, we did a lot of eating at yummy restaurants and a lot of relaxing. Matt and I even got some movie watching in after Ryleigh and Reagan went to bed a few nights. The resort we stayed at was amazing. We had a beautiful, 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with a full kitchen, dining room and washer and dryer....and it was on Disney property...so we were very close to everything. Seriously amazing.

And? Ryleigh and Reagan amaze me more every day...and with every trip we take them on. I roll my eyes when Matt says it, but sometimes I think he's right when he says they got his love for travel. They were really amazing the entire trip. They even did well on the drive there and back.
One more amazing vacation in the books!

And.....pictures!

Walking...FINALLY

BOTH of my baby girls are FINALLY walking! I was honestly beginning to think the day would never come! :) Okay, okay, I knew it would come eventually...surely. But Reagan? She just wasn't really interested in walking at all for the longest time. Finely Ryleigh got good (a little after 15 months), and I guess Reagan started seeing how fast Ryleigh could get into everything, and finally decided maybe this walking thing might be pretty cool. When we went to their 15 month well visit, their doctor seemed a little concerned that Reagan wasn't even really attempting to walk on her own. (she's been cruising on furniture for quite some time, but never tries to take steps without support) She recommended that we have some person (I forget her title)...I guess, to teach me how to encourage Reagan's walking. This suggestion annoyed me a little, because I have been "encouraging" Reagan to walk. All. The. Time. It's all we work on right now. Anyway, we ended up turning down the service when they called, because literally 3 days after their appointment, Reagan started trying to take steps on her own. YAY! So, she started taking several steps, and now at about 16 1/2 months- she is doing great. Ryleigh is practically running everywhere she goes now. She has 2 speeds, running or asleep. They are both into everything, and they are almost always going in different directions. What does this mean for me? I never sit down, unless they are sleeping. I'm am seriously having a blast with them though. I have dreamed of the 3 of us being able to walk, me holding each of their hands, for a while now...and now we can. :)  It some ways it makes life so much easier, in other ways, not so much!!
